Yesterday I unplugged

After a night of heavy beer drinking, I experienced a significant hangover the next morning. I learned that drinking beer leads to slower intoxication but prolongs recovery time. To recharge, I chose to unplug from technology and spend the day in nature, enjoying the tranquility of my rural surroundings while reflecting on the effects of my weekend.

Yesterday I unplugged

I've had a quite sophicsticated weekend. Sophisticated for I had to

drink an insane amount of beer the night from saturday to sunday. Turns out I even learned something new, so I'll share it: Drinking alcoholic drinks like Jäger or Vodka or what usually makes you drunk fast, and next morning bam you've got a headdache - but you feel sober. Not with too much beer. Drinking beer makes you drunk slow - that's the first difference - but won't make you feel sober next morning, which is quite understandable. Beer makes you drunk slower, so you drink more of it, probably way more. And your body needs more time to disintegrate this alcohol. So, rule reads: The more alcohol you need to get drunk, the longer it takes to get sober.

That's why I felt like I got fucked by a frickin elephant stampede when I woke up on Sunday morning.

The room still swang around me, I wasn't sure whether I was a chair or a human (really, I woke up and wondered why nobody was sitting on me, took me some time to realize that I'm no chair at all - I'd love to know what I dreamed about beforehand), and I had a good deal of headdache.

So, when I got home later that day I still feelt as if some gigantic animal had been raping the living shit out of my anus. All night.

We had perfect weather yesterday, a delightful radiant sun, birds singing lovely compositions in unity, wafting grass, wavy trees which slowly start to grow their first leaves. And the omnipotent flies, of course.

So, while standing in front of our house, I decided I would try to spend the rest of the day in our garden, refreshing my brain, recharging my energies. (It was in fact the only usefull thing for me to do as the alcohol feast from Saturday had burned my brain so bad that even the primitive attempt to read a book failed on me).

If you didn't know that I live in a pretty much rural area - now you know. So, while I sat in the bright sun and enjoyed Massive Attack over my ipod I wondered if it wouldn't be a good decision to just throw the fuckin conglomeration of electronic gadgets I got aside and try to inhale as much nature as I could. So I deactivated my cell phone, my normal wireless phone, the iPod, and the iBook, took me a chair and spend the rest of the day in the middle of a small nice meadow located behind our house. It really felt good, being wrested from all these electronical wireless smog junk fields.

It was so nice that I decided to take a picture so I could share the whole experience with you :) And while I was at it I recorded some audio too.

I build a small flash swf out of it. Enjoy it here:
(That's the meadow behind our house, like 4metres behind the door)

Ah yeah, you might note now that the whole concept of enjoying nature looses it's point if I carry a digi-cam and some audio recording equipment around. Well, right, but I - honestly - just took the pic and the recording and threw the junk right back into my room.

Ah yeah, I've had a pretty busy week, I had to go to 2 Birthdays and one funeral. And there were some other things I needed to do, but this week ought to be better. Thumbs up. Rock on.
