Keep your FTP updated, with an Automator action

Sending large files can be cumbersome, often resorting to outdated methods like FTP due to limitations with email and instant messaging. An Automator action streamlines this process by automatically uploading files to an FTP server when saved in a designated folder, simplifying the task greatly. This efficient solution offers a modern alternative for file sharing.

Keep your FTP updated, with an Automator action

Sending larger files to customers or friends is one of those few circumstances where technology hasn't really moved for years. Sure, you can send files via IM-Software like AIM or ICQ, but only when the reciever's online as well - which isn't always the case. Or you can send it via mail, but you never know if his mail-provider likes getting 50mb mails or just bounces it back. In the end most people come back to the old & aged ftp protocoll, upload their files to a server of theirs, and send this url to their friend.

But, isn't that a tedious task if you have to do it alot? Save file, open FTP Application, drag'n drop file, wait, etc.

That's why I digg this Automator action so much. You can just combine it with folder-actions, and as soon as you save a file into the specified folder it'll be uploaded onto your ftp. All automatic. Great stuff!
